Meet Marty — a salesperson, musician, and advocate for work-from-home.

What is your current job? I am an Account Executive for AnswerConnect.

What do you love about it? I love that I am able to connect and make a difference in businesses all over the world while taking care of our environment.

What is challenging about it? At first, it was challenging to get used to the pace and flow of working from home. Most of us were wired to think that a 9 to 5 job with a big commute was the only way to work. I realize now, this added a lot more stress to my daily life — which, I am happy to now avoid!

Have you ever suffered from Impostor Syndrome?

Yes. It used to happen to me because I was told that I could not be a successful businesswoman while being in the music industry and that I should only choose one path.

I believe impostor syndrome — or feeling less-than — happens because we don’t see our full potential. We may also be afraid to fail. Finally, we confide in other people when we feel uncertain, and sometimes they do not have our best interests in mind or do not understand our goals. All of this can hold us…
