Rewriting the Rules of Women’s Wellness: How One Coach Is Transforming Hormonal Health With Heart

Lauren Soto, founder of Ladies Lifestyle with Laur, didn’t set out to become a wellness entrepreneur — but life had other plans. What started as a spark during a college elective quickly turned into a calling to challenge diet culture, rewrite outdated health narratives, and empower women to reclaim their vitality from the inside out. With a deeply personal story, a clear mission, and an unapologetically honest approach, Lauren is helping women stop chasing quick fixes and start living in alignment with their hormones, health, and purpose.

In this candid conversation, Lauren shares the pivotal moments that shaped her journey, the mindset shifts that keep her grounded, and how she’s building more than just a business — she’s building a movement.

Getting to Know You

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background before starting your business?
Hi! I’m Lauren — known as Coach Laur to my clients — founder of Ladies Lifestyle with Laur, LLC and a passionate advocate for women’s health. I’m on a mission to challenge outdated norms in traditional medicine and help women reclaim their wellness with sustainable, empowering solutions — especially when it comes to hormonal balance and overall health.

My roots in health and fitness run deep. As a competitive cheerleader growing up, I learned how much nutrition impacts energy, performance, and well-being. But like many women raised in the early 2000s, I also experienced the darker side of diet culture — crash diets, toxic messaging, and the pressure to meet impossible standards. That era shaped my story and fueled my drive to do things differently and help the women I work with avoid restriction (except for medical reasons) and negative relationships with food entirely.

What deepened my drive even more was watching my mom suffer in silence — crying in doctors’ offices, begging for help with her severe endometriosis and menopausal symptoms, only to be met with shrugs and eye rolls. It was heartbreaking, and it made it painfully clear: women deserve so much better than they are currently getting.

Now, I dedicate my work to helping women break free from harmful patterns and find true balance — physically, mentally, and hormonally. When I’m not coaching or advocating, I’m probably cooking up something nutritious and delicious, spending time with my dog, or enjoying good meals and laughs with family and friends.

Surprisingly, working in fitness or nutrition full-time wasn’t something I had planned. I was the “bigger girl” throughout most of childhood until puberty, and though I was interested in health, I never imagined it would become my career.

Fast forward to college — I was a Physical Therapy student in my final undergraduate year, set to graduate in May 2021. I was burnt out, unhappy, and questioning my path. Then, in my final semester, I enrolled in a nutrition elective, thinking it would be an easy A. Two weeks into the course, a light bulb went off: THIS is what I want to do.

I stopped applying to PT grad programs and enrolled in the University of New England’s distance program — a self-paced, online master’s in applied nutrition. Along the way, I became a certified nutrition coach via NASM (2022) and began working with clients at a local gym. I learned the ropes of business practices, client interaction, and coaching.

In the summer of 2024, I graduated with my Master of Science in Applied Nutrition, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. I continued working with clients and officially launched my business in November 2024.

What inspired you to get into this industry or business? Was there a defining moment that pushed you to take the leap?
There wasn’t just one big moment — it was a growing realization. I knew I wanted more: more impact, more flexibility, more alignment with the life I was building.

Working for someone else helped me gain experience, but the pay didn’t match the passion I was bringing. I felt boxed in. Even before grad school, I had this inner knowing I was meant to build something of my own — something that gave me the freedom to show up fully for both clients and my future family.

Launching an online business gave me the ability to combine my passion for women’s health with a lifestyle I love — full of travel, memories, and purpose.

What problem does your business solve, and what impact are you hoping to make?
At Ladies Lifestyle with Laur, everything starts with this truth: when a woman’s hormones are out of balance, nothing else works the way it should.

Traditional health advice often overlooks how critical hormones are to metabolism, energy, mood, digestion, and mental clarity. Women get stuck in a loop of crash diets and disordered patterns, causing even more imbalance.

I work with women to get to the root. Through nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset shifts, we focus on nourishing — not restricting — and on building sustainable results that empower them to feel strong and confident long-term.

LLL programs are about so much more than a number on a scale. It’s about foundational health — habits and change you can carry for life. It’s about stepping into the strong, capable woman you were always meant to be.

The Entrepreneurial Journey

What were the biggest challenges you faced when starting out, and how did you overcome them?
Honestly, the biggest challenge was me. The self-doubt was constant. I questioned everything: “Am I good enough?” “Will anyone trust me?” “What if I fail?”

Mentorship, education, and surrounding myself with other professionals helped — but what really pushed me through was reconnecting to my why. I stopped waiting to feel “ready” and took messy action. That’s what built confidence.

Did you have a mentor, role model, or specific experience that shaped your approach to business?
Yes — working with my business coach, Lynette Marie, was transformative. She helped me learn everything from strategy and branding to crafting an irresistible offer.

Now, I’m working with Stacey Chillemi, a renowned wellness speaker and host of The Advisor Podcast. She’s guided me through marketing, web design, and even encouraged me to launch my own podcast.

These mentors gave me the tools — but more importantly, they helped me believe in myself.

What’s one decision you made early on that had a major impact on your success?
Going all in with no backup plan changed everything. That kind of commitment shifts how you show up. It lit a fire in me, and that’s never gone out.

I’m not just building a business — I’m creating a movement for women who are tired of being dismissed or overlooked. I may not have all the answers, but I’ll never stop fighting for the better ones we deserve.

Finding Success & Growth

How do you define success for yourself and your business?
Success isn’t just about numbers or income. It’s about seeing women feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.

Personally, success means living in alignment with my values and having a sustainable business that doesn’t burn me out. It’s about making an impact — and enjoying the ride.

Can you share a milestone or accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of?
I’m proud of growing my online presence from zero. In just a few months, I grew my following by 200+. Every follower is a woman curious and ready for change — and that’s who I’m here to serve.

The feedback from friends and family? That’s what reminds me this work matters.

What strategies have helped you grow and scale your business?
Connection. I focus on building real relationships — through social media, messaging, and value-driven content. I don’t cold sell. I listen, empathize, and lead with authenticity.

That approach builds trust — and it brings in clients who are truly ready for transformation.

Mindset & Motivation

What keeps you motivated during tough times?
My passion for helping women. That’s always been the drive. Even growing up, I found joy in helping others — and that part of me hasn’t changed.

Tough times happen, but remembering the why behind it all keeps me going.

Are there any daily habits, routines, or mindset shifts that have contributed to your success?
Yes — morning structure is key. A daily checklist helps keep me focused.

Mindset-wise, I’ve learned to balance being realistic and ambitious. Growth takes time — but dreaming big keeps me energized and creative.

3. If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Stop hesitating. Go for it. You don’t have to follow the traditional path. Failure isn’t the enemy — it’s part of the journey. Trust your gut. It’s all going to be worth it.

Advice for Other Women Entrepreneurs

What’s one myth about entrepreneurship you’d like to debunk?
That anyone can start a successful business. Yes, anyone can start one — but making it sustainable and meaningful takes grit, mindset, and purpose.

It’s not easy. But if you’re in it for the right reasons, it can be one of the most empowering journeys of your life.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about business or leadership?
“Not everyone is going to like you or want you as their coach — and that’s okay.”

Trying to be for everyone burns you out. I’ve learned that rejection isn’t personal — it’s redirection. And staying true to your mission is what brings the right people your way.

What advice would you give to other women who are thinking about starting their own business?
Keep your head high, stay grounded in your purpose, and don’t let anyone dim your light.

Starting a business is hard — but so rewarding. If you’re standing on the edge of that leap, take it. The world needs more women doing exactly what you’re dreaming of.

Looking Ahead

What’s next for you and your business? Any exciting projects or goals?
Our signature program LIFETRACC — a personalized, 4+ month 1:1 coaching experience — is accepting new applicants. We’ve got great promos through April, and I want to help women spring into summer feeling strong and in control.

I’m also focused on expanding the LLL community — through social media, collaborations, and launching my own podcast in the near future!

How do you hope to make an impact beyond your business?
I want to advocate for women everywhere — not just in wellness. I’m launching a podcast to have real, unfiltered conversations about everything we face as women.

I believe deeply in lifting each other up, being real, and using our voices. When one of us rises, it gives others the courage to do the same.

If you had to sum up your entrepreneurial journey in one sentence, what would it be?
Through all the trials and tribulations I’ve conquered, my passion for helping women remains stronger than ever — and that’s what makes it all worth it.
