7 Affirmations to Try This Week

I believe there is power in what we read, think, and think. I believe our minds are always listening, and I try to be intentional about what I tell myself. It won’t come as a surprise then that I think it’s worthwhile to indulge in repeating affirmations to ourselves, especially when things feel stressful or overwhelming.
The way we speak to ourselves matters, and we can be intentional about replacing intrusive negative thoughts with positive self-talk. Instead of allowing yourself to think or say something like, “This is too much, I will never be able to make this happen,” you can replace this with, “I rise to the challenges in front of me. I am capable of doing hard things.” Beyond replacing the negative, we can even take things further and hype ourselves up! Imagine prepping for a big meeting or presentation and adding an affirmation as the final touch. I have a strong will and I can do anything I put my mind to.
Repeating affirmations to one’s self has been proven to increase confidence, improve performance and contribute to better overall well-being.
