The benefits of lifelong learning are many. Improved brain health, feeling more fulfilled, experiencing more professional success, stress reduction, and a better social life are just a few of the benefits noted by HBR and Walden University.

Malala Yousafzai says,The content of a book holds the power of education and it is with this power that we can shape our future and change lives.” Committing to lifelong learning has changed my life. I have become a better leader, parent, friend, partner, and human because of the knowledge I’ve amassed through years of learning.

While I have always loved reading — and spent most of my childhood and adolescence with my face in a book — the habit slipped for a period in adulthood, and while I would have told you I was an avid reader, even while the practice was lost, the truth was in the results — I wasn’t reading much.
